The Cubes
Conceptual Art Piece

  • Art that cannot be seen – is it art?

This existential question has intrigued me for over a decade. This masterpiece is a collection of 160 (13x13 inch) metal cubes. Inside each of them lives a piece of art from people I consider to be great Artists. I have completed 9 to date. It started in the year 2000. At the completion of this project, all the cubes will go inside a mother cube, the location of this final object is yet to be determined, but I hope that it is in the Venezuelan Amazon.

The culmination of this process takes the shape of a hardcover book, where all the artists involved will have a chance to express themselves in the process and/or what is or what isn’t inside their cubes. The number of books printed will be 160, and that will be the actual, tangible piece of art.

  • Many Artists are collaborating with this life long project, here are the first 5; William Stone (Venezuela, painter and sculptor), James Endwood (Belize, wood sculptor), Alex Fernandez (Colombia, Conceptual Artist), Joshua Mangual (Fort Lauderdale, street Artist), Take Yasui (Japan, paper sculptor)
